The bond, if approved, would provide funds for several critical infrastructure updates. One such update is roofing needs. The district currently manages multiple leaks in several buildings. The bond proposal includes the replacement of more than 130,000 square feet of roofing at the Primary, Middle, and High Schools. Don’t forget to vote on Tuesday, May 5!

Why can’t schools just budget for major repairs?
In many states, school districts receive funding for large facility improvements. Michigan is one of the few that does not — meaning these costs are primarily supported by local communities through bond proposals.
At G-A, our $18 million budget supports staff, instruction, and daily operations. About $1.6 million (8.9%) is allocated to operations and maintenance, covering essentials like payroll, energy, and general upkeep.
These funds keep our buildings running — but they aren’t designed to cover major repairs.

You can download the MHSAA physical form from the school website (g-aschools.org). Select High School, then athletics. There is a tab for MHSAA Physical Forms. Forms are also available in the middle school and high school offices and we will have forms available on the night of the physicals. Also, we are aware that this date conflicts with some after school events. However, dates are limited to the availability of the medical staff.
