Miss Katie MacDonell

Science Teacher

Shortly after graduating from WMU, I was hired in 2011 after completing my internship here in the district. I have taught physical science, general physical science, biology, chemistry, and general chemistry. Currently, I teach biology, anatomy, and AP biology.

I am originally from Vicksburg where I attended school K-12. I graduated in 2006 in the top ten of my class. In high school, I was a member of the marching and symphonic bands. I was a drum major my senior year. I was also a member of the golf team for two years and was the President of NHS (National Honor Society).

After graduating, I attended KVCC for two years and earned my Associate of Arts. I then transferred to Western Michigan University to earn my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. I actually completed my internship in 2011 with Scott Taylor here at the high school. Thankfully, I was hired the same year and have been enjoying teaching ever since.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family, who actually are originally from the G-A area. I also enjoy arts and crafts, listening to music (mainly soundtracks which I know the students enjoy in class), and playing golf when the weather cooperates. I am excited for this coming school year and am looking forward to many more years to come!
