Mrs. Hymer

 

Mrs. Hymer has had the privilege to teach in three different districts in three different states. Her classroom experiences stretch between grades 4 - 8 and primarily in the area of Language Arts and Math.  Upon completing her Educational Leadership degree from Western Michigan University she joined the Galesburg-Augusta Administrative Team.  She and her husband have 2 daughters, one granddaughter, foster children and 2 lovely but spoiled Weimaraner dogs.  Some of her hobbies include baking, scrapbooking, and spending time with the family.

Ms. La Rue

 

Ms. La Rue has been at G-A since August 2004.  She has a son, a daughter, and a cat named Boots, adopted from the Humane Society this past February. One of Ms. La Rue’s favorite places is Cedar Point! She also enjoys walking, reading, riding bikes with kids, and boating . She collects dragonflies and also Marilyn Monroe trinkets.

 

Teacher Consultant
Mr. Kaemming


Mr. Kaemming is Galesburg-Augusta’s teacher consultant and has been here for 5 years.  Prior to joining G-A, he worked at Behavioral Education Center in Van Buren County.  Mr. Kaemming has two daughters, Leah and Renee, and his favorite hobbies are woodworking and gardening, although he also enjoys camping, canoeing, fishing, and playing rugby.

Head Custodial / Maintenance Person:
Todd VanKersen

 

Mr. VanKersen has been keeping the buildings at Galesburg-Augusta looking great for 24 years!  In addition to working at the Intermediate, Mr. VanKersen has also worked at the previous G-A High School and the previous G-A Primary.  He has a wife, Cindy, and two children, Todd Jr. and Jennifer, who works at our Primary building in the Special Education department. Mr. VanKersen also has five step-children, D.J., Shannon, Larry, Corey, and Casey, and a dog named Rascal.  Mr. VanKersen enjoys Nascar and Hotrods, and he has 14 grandchildren. 

 

Kitchen Manager Intermediate

Mrs. Wirgau

 

Mrs. Wirgau has been serving up delicious meals for our students for ten years, and she has also served as the Kitchen Manager for the past six years.  She says “lunch ladies run in her family” because her sister is also a part of the kitchen staff at G-A, and their grandmother retired from the kitchen in Comstock Schools. Mrs. Wirgau’s favorite things to do include reading, crafts, golfing, and of course, cooking!  She has three daughters, one who teaches right here the Intermediate as the fifth grade Social Studies teacher, two son-in-laws, and two grandchildren, Drake & Jolean, and husband Larry.

 

Food Services

Ms. Frazier

 

Ms. Frazier has been working in the kitchen at our Intermediate for one year.  She has also worked at First of America Bank and Driveline Merchandising.  Ms. Frazier has one daughter, Alysa, and one son, Chris.  Her favorite things to do are reading and gardening.  Of working in the G-A kitchen she says “My food always tastes good!”
